Q: I know how to use the Shared Matches also called In Common Matches tools. I have contacted some of my matches but with few responses. What else can I do with my DNA results?
R: Autosomal DNA test results from Ancestry DNA and Family Tree DNA can be uploaded to GEDmatch to glean more connections in your family tree. You will need to upload your raw data from your DNA kit to GEDmatch at least 24 hours in advance. Once you register, I can give you directions on how to do this. All DNA kits can meet together since we will be working on GEDmatch free tools not tools associated with individual DNA testing companies.

Q: I have specific questions about my specific ancestors in the US. Also, I know I don’t even know all the questions I have. I’d like some leads on how to find the answers.
R: This is a hands-on small-group tutoring session limited to 2 participants who have questions about genealogy research at any level. Each participant will have time for me to respond to his/her specific question(s) allowing for the participant in the small group the same courtesy. This is not a private consultant session. Participants are encouraged to enjoy learning from the questions and responses of fellow researchers too. Participants will need to email me 1-2 questions at least 1 week before the tutoring session.
